So it's time for me to fess up. I went and deleted all the people on my friends list that I actually know. I love you guys, I really do... but there is a lot of stuff that I am not prepared to deal with the consequences of you knowing (you know, that wonderous gossip) and I'm sick of being all held back in my own journal. So now, it's all me, nothing held back.

| SUICIDE - PLEASE READ |

I wanted to share with everyone something very disturbing that happened to me today, so this post is going to be public, so everyone can see and hopefully take something from this.
On our way home from the mall, about 1 block from my house, Marcus and I see all these police cars surrounding this house. I got scared because I thought it might have been where my friend Lauren lived. The front door was open, so immediately I thought robbery. Well then I saw a police officer run out of the house with latex gloves on, to his car, pick something up and run back in. Now I'm thinking, holy shit... someone's hurt! So Marcus and I spot my neighboor and ask him what's going on. Turns out, it wasn't my friends house, but my brother's friend's house.
A 10 year old boy committed suicide. 10 years old. They said he was a troubled boy with ADHD and not many people liked to play with him or be around him because of his imbalance. I suppose he had enough of this, and decided to take matters into his own hands. I'm sure he didn't realize what exactly he was doing, I mean can a 10 year old child really have a concept of death? I'm sure he didn't think it out thoroughly before he did it. He hanged himself, while his mother, father and older brother were all home.
They found him with no vital signs, but still rushed him out of the house into the ambulance and off to the hospital. The image of this small boy being carried out, all blue faced and completely limp in the arms of 4 police officers will be an image I won't soon forget. Last I heard after they rushed him to the hospital, it didn't look good at all, that was over 4 hours ago.
I just can't believe it at all. It's so surreal, and I can't even being to think about what the family must be feeling right now. If you believe in prayer, please pray for this family, to give them the strength to get through this very very difficult time for them now and in the future.
7% of all suicides in the US are children ages 10-14. 10-14 y/o should not be thinking about killing themselves! In 1993, that percentage boiled down to 315 suicides, and since then, that number has only been increasing.
